Without constructive feedback, supportive responses and nuggets of wisdom, we won't be able to achieve our collective goal of enabling homeschool moms to get the most out of their homeschool journey. Without respect and civility, constructive feedback and debate is impossible. Therefore, respect, kindness and civility need to be the hallmarks of this community.
Share the Love
Share what you know and help out other moms where you can. Being generous with your time and knowledge can make such a difference in the day of a struggling mom.
All posts are to be written in the spirit of kindness:
THL is meant to be a positive supportive community for members to share and connect. We won't always agree on everything, but it is expected that any disagreements stick to the issue and not attack anyone personally. If posts begin to get personal, they will be closed.
Search Before Posting
It's possible that there's already a conversation taking place about a topic you want to discuss and keeping it all in one place makes it easier for everyone who's interested.
Keep your posts on-topic and in the correct category of the forum. Keep any other comments relevant to the content they're attached to. Drive-by comments with no substance don't add to the conversation, they just make it harder to follow. Our administrators will reserve the right to remove off-topic comments and posts at their discretion in order to keep the conversation relevant.
Do Not Harass or Insult Other Members
Making personal attacks, insulting other members, or discussing a specific member in a negative way is not ok. The two golden rules are: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all; and treat others as you'd like them to treat you.
Do Not Spam
The homeschool Lounge is a spam-free community. We define spam as creating, sending or enabling anything that constitutes or contains "chain letters", "pyramid schemes", "unsolicited emails", "unsolicited invitations", "unsolicited promotions" and any advertisement that you are prohibited by law from sending to any member of our community. Spamming also includes sharing links to your blog, articles or any website that you are directly affiliated to. Sending private messages with links to your blog, websites or articles is not permitted as it can become an annoyance and be construed as spam. All links to personal sites or content can be shared in a journal entry on your personal profile page.
If you own, moderate or contribute to another social network, forum or group and/or are trying to promote another social network, forum or group on The Homeschool Lounge, please contact The Homeschool Lounge (THL) for approval prior to joining or posting such sites. If you do not have approval before joining or posting such sites and/or found creating, promoting content for an unapproved site, spamming our membership with invitations and unsolicited emails or any other activity on THL that violates our Terms of Service, you will be immediately and permanently banned from our community. Each Lounge Sister has the ability to advertise their independent business on their "Nook" on THL. However, we do not allow mass emails to individuals or groups nor do we allow advertising your business on others Nooks. We want each Lounge Sister to be successful and so we do provide specific areas for you to promote your business.
